City of Philadelphia Residency / Domicile Requirement – Within 12 Months of Hire

Responsibilities

  • Certify that tested software meets requirements and executes without error.
  • Develop and deliver test plans, detailed test scripts for integration, system or automated testing.
  • Execute test scripts, identifies and reports defects.
  • Assist business clients in designing and executing user acceptance test scripts to ensure all end user requirements are met.
  • Recommend improvements, solutions and options based on business needs, technical requirements and user acceptance testing.
  • Identify, logs and follows up on all defects found during testing.
  • Create and maintain data.
  • Conduct defect review meetings with development team and business clients, and provide testing status to the lead test designer and/or work manager.
  • Work closely with the project team members to understand business needs, give a Quality Assurance perspective and provide information that assists in making good project decisions.
  • Analyze and trace business requirements to functional requirements and test scripts.
  • Prepare test status matrix which displays: test cases passed and failed; total defects reports and resolved.
  • Coordinate creation and maintenance of data needed for testing and assists the client in designing and executing user acceptance test scripts to ensure all end user requirements are met. 
  • Document business processes and off-site activities required for the maintenance of recovery process and post recovery reporting.
  • Prepare for and participate in Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity initiatives and exercises.
  • Perform other special projects and assignments as requested.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Management or related field required - Equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
  • Strong knowledge automated test tools such as Loadrunner
  • 2+ year of Manual or Automated Software Testing
  • Prepare test status matrix which displays: test cases passed and failed; total defects reports and resolved.
  • Strong knowledge of software testing methodology.
  • Strong working knowledge of software development lifecycle and project management methodology.
  • Strong team player with high standard of excellence.
  • Solid PC skills including MS Office, Access, Project.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to write clear and concise documentation.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and must be able to handle difficult and high stress situations with diplomacy.
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment and make independent decisions.
  • Ability to anticipate, identify and assess risk and take corrective action.
  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to present and discuss technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding.
  • Must be self-motivated, self-directed and detail oriented

 

Residency Requirement: All employees of the Philadelphia Gas Works (PGW) must live in the City of Philadelphia for the duration of their employment. If a candidate does not live in the City of Philadelphia at the time of hire, he/she must move into the city within twelve (12) months of his/her hire date.
