Philadelphia Gas Works (PGW) is offering internships/Co-Ops for Engineering Students in our Field Operations, Engineering, and Gas Processing Departments.Opportunities are available during the academic/calendar year and summer months.

 

The PGW Internship Program is designed for students currently enrolled FULL-TIME at an accredited college or university with a sophomore classification or above ONLY.

Analyst Internship – Corporate Planning Department

 

An internship with PGW’s Corporate Planning Department will provide learning and growth opportunities for enthusiastic students interested in the energy industry.

Responsibilities

1. Support strategy development at PGW by performing research, data collection and analysis on assigned topics


a. Review and summarize reports and publications on industry trends, such as energy policy or emerging technology
b. Complete data collection, aggregation and organization for public data sets, such as the Energy Information Administration (EIA)
c. Interpret and synthesize research for key insights and conclusions.
d. Develop final summary materials such as PowerPoint presentations or dashboards in visualization software such as Tableau


2. Support the department on other duties as needed, and collaborate on assignments and special projects tailored to the intern’s unique skill set and areas of interest

Qualifications

1. Currently enrolled in a college/university program with good academic standing; pursuing a graduate degree preferred
2. Academic and/or practical knowledge of the energy industry a plus
3. Quantitative analytical skills / data analysis skills a plus
4. Must have strong research, and verbal and written communication skills and ability to work independently
5. Able to commit 30 hours weekly onsite at PGW’s headquarters for a minimum of 11 weeks
