Data Governance Analyst
Develop and implement data governance strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and security of our organization's data assets.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data governance frameworks and establish data standards, including data classification, data lifecycle management, data quality, data lineage, data retention, and data privacy.
Design data governance controls, such as access controls, data encryption, data masking, data loss prevention data lineage, and data retention in collaboration with other IS teams and ensure that they are properly implemented.
Assist in ensuring that Data Governance policies and procedures are adhered to for onboarding data subject areas with clear data classification and data ownership.
Assist in ensuring controls are in place for access and security for IS managed and self-service environments.
Assist in the designing and implementation of innovative data workflows, automation, tools, and API integrations.
Work with Lead Product Owner to promote a data driven culture through data literacy programs and best practices.
Monitor and enforce compliance with data governance policies and procedures, identifying and resolving data quality issues and vulnerabilities.
Conduct data risk assessments and develop mitigation plans to address identified risks.
Provide guidance and support to business units and stakeholders on data governance, the best practices and standards.
Collaborate with IS teams to implement data governance tools and technologies, ensuring their alignment with business requirements and objectives.
Work as part of a team to gather requirements and assess data governance tools.
Analyze datasets to identify quality issues and ensure the accuracy and completeness of data definitions.
Perform detailed data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, and summarize findings.
Provide best practices for metadata repositories and data dictionaries.
Monitor access controls and permissions to safeguard data integrity.
Oversee the lifecycle of data from creation to archival or deletion.
Collaborate with IS teams to establish master data management processes.

Perform other special projects and assignments as directed.
Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Experience in Data Governance, with preferred DGSP certification or equivalent certification and expertise in data quality and compliance.
Knowledge of data governance concepts, frameworks, and best practices.
Expertise in data technologies and the use of data to support software development, advanced analytics, and reporting.
Knowledge of data processing languages such as SQL or Python at an intermediate level.
Experience in the use of Tableau.
Experience in the use of tools for Data Privacy, Data Lineage, and Data Categorization.
Experience in implementing data governance controls.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve data quality issues.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and Stakeholders.
Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
Experience in data analysis, data governance, and integration, and is proficient in working with complex data sets to
develop actionable insights.
Proficiency in developing reports, briefings, and documentation to support leadership decision-making.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
