Administrator, Retail Operations

Responsibilities

This Administrator, Retail Operations is expected to manage the PGW Gas Choice Retail Operations Program in Gas Management. The incumbent must coordinate the activities of suppliers to PGW firm and interruptible transportation customers and ensure PGW Gas Supply, PGW Marketing and PGW Customer Affairs activities related to Retail Operations are aligned to ensure reliable gas delivery to customers.


Key responsibilities include:


Management of Gas Choice


Manage PGW’s Gas Choice Program inclusive of Integrated Gas Management software system that provides access to suppliers and interfaces with PGW systems.


Ensure the timely filing in proper form of monthly Choice transportation nominations/confirmations and all revisions necessary to properly interface with the PGW Choice, PGW accounting and billing systems.
Oversee the development of reports for Choice transportation activities and scheduling of transportation customers.


Ensure data for supplier nominations is accurate and in the proper formats. Manage supplier applications and certification, inclusion to the PGW billing systems and day-to-day supplier interaction.


Ensure compliance with PGW tariff.


Must be informed and current with regulatory initiatives affecting Choice programs and be proactive in addressing impacts. Oversee program and system updates and required training.


Personnel Management
Coordinate subordinate work activities by developing project timelines, milestones and analyzing impact, determining priorities of activities, making work assignments, monitoring projects, and providing direction and assistance as needed.


Assess employees’ needs, ensuring subordinates are properly trained and adhere to company policies, practices and procedures including collective bargaining agreement when applicable. Assist the Manager first step union grievance procedures.


Evaluate and meet with subordinates to discuss work performance providing appropriate commendations and disciplinary actions to ensure employees are well equipped to meet and/or exceed job expectations.


Finance & Accounting
Participate in the annual budget preparation process as needed.


Other Related Functions
Keep abreast of federal, state and local regulatory agency decisions, ordinances, etc. which affects the Gas Choice Program.


Maintaining an awareness of imbalance penalties assessed by pipelines and to the greatest extent possible, avoids the violation of tariffs which cause such penalties to take effect.


Perform other special projects and assignments as requested.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Information Systems, Business or Accounting is considered important for the proper performance of this position; course work in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Accounting and Business Law would be a plus.


5 - 7 years’ experience working in the gas industry with knowledge of gas supply load dispatching, marketing and pipeline transportation systems, pipeline rate structures, information systems.


Must have analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyze and report impact of all transport activities on budget and daily operations.


Must have problem solving skills with the ability to apply learned business principles to evolving business practices to recommend appropriate solutions to daily issues.


Must have verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to secure harmony and cooperation of personnel at all levels, including producers, gas brokers, pipeline employees, end-users and related company employees.


Must be computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office, project management and financial software systems such as Oracle, Clarity, Quicken, etc. and ability to learn pipeline EBB packages.


Must be a multi-tasker with the ability to work smoothly under pressure while meeting deadlines.


Must be flexible with the ability to work out-of-hours as needed.


An Equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable in lieu of degree.
